Vincent Wine Company

Vincent Fritzsche has made the wine himself since 2009, from bought fruit in named vineyards rather than an estate. He moved the winery from Portland out to ten acres near Amity at the end of 2024, and almost every listing still has the old address.

Join the mailing list before you plan a visit. Private tastings are offered to subscribers only, and there are no published hours. Every third-party listing still shows the old Portland address — the winery is in Amity now.

This is the one on the list you cannot simply turn up to, or even simply book. Tastings are for people on the mailing list. Join it first, and the rest follows.

The wine

Ask for the Pinot Noir from Armstrong Vineyard on Ribbon Ridge — the 2023 is the one, around $50. Worth knowing before you ask: the 2024 made from the same fruit is labelled Ribbon Ridge rather than Armstrong, so the two names refer to nearly the same wine in different years.

Beyond Pinot there is Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Gamay, a rosé of Gamay and Tempranillo, plus Cabernet Sauvignon under the separate Fritzsche label. Everything is low-input, from sustainably farmed vineyards, in small amounts.

Who it is for

Single-varietal wines driven by one winemaker with a real passion for them. It is a down-to-earth visit and a genuine chance to learn from a one-man operation — there is nobody between you and the person who made the wine.

Who would find it wrong: anyone wanting luxury. This is the opposite end from Domaine Roy or Antica Terra, and the mailing-list requirement means it cannot be a spontaneous stop.

What to expect

Appointments only, for subscribers. There are periodic open houses announced to the list — those are free to attend. For group tastings, there is no charge under eight people; above that a small fee applies, though the amount is not published.

A more down-home experience, with a one-man operation to learn from.
